Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Energy Star are a couple of the many organizations that help drive this initiative by setting up guidelines for making projects more energy efficient. The goal is to integrate sustainable strategies into the initial design such as providing natural light, collecting solar energy, reusing rainwater, selecting local materials along with many other possibilities.
